FIRST WEATHER-WX CTR

After the low clouds and fog lifted across Southwest Florida yesterday, it turned out to be a pretty nice Saturday. The sunshine finally returned and temperatures warmed into the lower half of the 80s, with lots of humidity.

This morning areas of dense fog are already forming and as a result the National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 9am for all of Southwest Florida. It will also be a rather warm and humid start with temperatures in the upper 60s. Once the fog lifts, mostly to partly sunny skies will take us into the afternoon hours with minimal rain chances. A stray shower is possible once again deep inland, otherwise plan on a fairly dry and warm Sunday. In fact, afternoon highs will run 10° above average as they climb into the middle 80s. With the developing west coast seabreeze, temperatures will be slightly cooler along the coast and at our beach locations.

With clear skies in the forecast tonight, patchy fog will be a concern for the early morning commute on Monday. Temperatures will also settle in the middle to upper 60s.

A fairly dry weather pattern will be shaping up for week with unseasonably warm temperatures. Plan on morning lows to be quite mild in the middle 60s, while temperatures climb into the lower half of the 80s during the day. Moisture will return by midweek adding a little bit if cloud cover to our skies, along with the a few isolated showers by Thursday. Return to index of stories...

MAIN WEATHER

GOLF BALL HITS GATORS HEAD-PKG

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--

THIS IMAGE GIVES A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO A HAZARD ON THE GOLF COURSE.

Just a strange happening.Definitely one of the stranger things I've seen on a course.

A GOLF BALL---ON TOP OF AN ALLIGATOR'S HEAD ON THE 9TH HOLE AT MYAKKE PINES IN ENGLEWOOD.

We've had a lot of gators and a lot of golf balls that run up near gators, but we havent had one on top of a gator's head that i know of.

DAVID PUCIN CAPTURED THE MOMENT ON HIS CELL PHONE LAST MONDAY---WHILE GOLFING WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS.

The gator was here. No surprise to see that gator getting sun.A great gorgeous day. We looked a little closer and there was a golf ball on his head.

HOW IT LANDED ON THE GATOR REMAINS A MYSTERY.

FOR ALL WE KNOW, MAYBE SOMEONE HAD THE COURAGE TO PUT IT THERE AS A JOKE. REGARDLESS, IT'S GOT CLUB MEMBERS BUZZING.

I bet you it's a ball someone was looking for and thought it went in the water and just didn't pay attention. That's what i think.

I kind of find it hard to believe if anyone would have put it on there.

IF THAT'S THE CASE---TALK ABOUT A HOLE IN ONE. Return to index of stories...
