"Great weather continues"

What a way to start the week! Lots of sunshine, low humidity, and afternoon highs in the low 80s. Our nice weather pattern will hold in place for the next day or two, with increasing rain chances by late Wednesday.

Our morning will get off to a cool start with temperatures ranging from the middle 50s north of the river, to lower 60s south. Sunny skies will prevail, but we may see a few low clouds and a patch or two of fog develop deep inland. This afternoon, just a few clouds will mix in with our sunshine and daytime highs will return to the lower 80s. Humidity levels will also be tolerable, making for a comfortable day across Southwest Florida.

Tonight, mostly clear skies will continue and temperatures won't be quite as cool as they settle into the lower 60s area wide.

The area of high pressure that has controlled our weather will begin to weaken and as a result rain chances will be on the rise. We'll keep a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast on Wednesday with temperatures climbing into the lower 80s. A few afternoon showers will also be possible as they push deeper inland through the day. Another storm system to our west will aim more moisture toward the Florida peninsula, with scattered showers and storms developing late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning. In the wake of this frontal passage, a much cooler and drier airmass will settle across the state. Some forecast models are hinting at overnight lows in the middle 40s by Friday morning, with highs in the low 70s during the day. This will set the stage for a beautiful weekend with lots of sunshine and low humidity. Return to index of stories...

continues"
