"Increasing rain chances"

We were able to hold on to one more day of superb weather - lots of sun, comfortable humidity, and highs in the low 80s. The area of high pressure that has controlled our weather will begin to weaken and as a result, rain chances will be on the rise.

Our day will dawn bright and mostly sunny and temperatures won't be quite as cool. Most of us will wake to readings in the upper 50s, with a few inland and northern cool spots in the middle 50s. Ample sunshine will get the day going, however a patch or two of fog will be possible deeper inland and north of the Caloosahatchee. Throughout the afternoon, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds and daytime highs will return to the lower 80s. A few showers will be possible during the heat of the day, but with an onshore wind flow any rain that develops will get pushed east of I-75.

Late this afternoon and into the evening, as another storm system approaches from the west expect increasing clouds. Scattered showers and even a few storms will push toward the west coast of the peninsula affecting Southwest Florida through the nighttime hours.

By Thursday morning, the rain will have moved out and temperatures will start off in the 60s. Clouds will clear and a cooler and drier airmass will settle into the area. Despite mostly sunny skies during the afternoon, daytime highs will be a few degrees below average as they top out in the lower 70s. Valentine's Day will get off to a chilly start with temperatures in the middle 40s, but the afternoon will be beautiful with lots of sun and highs in the lower 70s. This will set the stage for another great weekend featuring comfortable humidity values and slight warming trend. Return to index of stories...

STORMWARN FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS TH

E FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

By Thursday morning, the rain will have moved out and temperatures will start off in the 60s. Clouds will clear and a cooler and drier airmass will settle into the area. Despite mostly sunny skies during the afternoon, daytime highs will be a few degrees below average as they top out in the lower 70s.
