MOTHER NATURE HOSTING HER OWN GAMES

FROM OLYMIC ATHELES. RUNNING TO THE OCEAN. TO COOL OFF

TO THE DEEP SOUTH BUNDLING UP, AND SHUTTING DOWN.

GOOD MORNING I'M CHANCE SEALES

THANKS FOR JOINING US.ON ABC 7

I'M AMY SEDLACEK.

THE CRAZY WEATHER GOING TO PACK A PUNCH FOR US

STORMWARN 7 METEROLOGIST ALLYSON RAE WITH WHAT'S IN STORE.

"A nice stretch of weather"

After a few cloudy days, the sunshine finally returned yesterday afternoon as a weak cold front swept through the area. As a result, we'll see a couple of cool mornings followed by warm afternoons as we get the week started. By mid week, we'll be tracking another weather system that will bring another shot of rain to Southwest Florida.

Our morning will start on a cool note, with many of us waking to readings in the middle to upper 50s. Some of our inland and northern cool spots may see temperatures dipping as low as 50° just before sunrise. Sunshine will fill our skies during the morning hours, with the exception of a few low clouds across our interior zones. Afternoon temperatures will return to the lower 80s, but it will feel quite nice outside as humidity levels will stay on the lower end.

Mostly clear skies will continue through the evening setting the stage for another cool night. Temperatures will settle into the upper 50s to 60° by morning with light winds across the region.

High pressure will remain in control of our weather pattern through Tuesday keeping us mostly to partly sunny. A warming trend will continue as daytime highs climb into the lower to middle 80s, while overnight lows warm back into the 60s. By Wednesday, we'll be tracking another storm system to our west that will aim more moisture toward the west coast of Florida. Expect a few showers deep inland Wednesday afternoon, with scattered showers developing during the evening and into early Thursday morning. Once this front passes through the peninsula, a much cooler and drier airmass will settle across the state. Highs will manage to reach the lower to middle 70s, Return to index of stories...

THIS MORNING CLOSING ARGUMENTS WILL BEGIN AGAINST A FLORIDA MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING A TEEN OVER LOUD MUSIC.

WE HAVE DRAMATIC TESTIMONY FROM MICHAEL DUNN.

HE TOOK THE STAND IN HIS OWN DEFENSE.

ABC'S RYAN OWENS HAS THE STORY. Return to index of stories...

DEFENSE RESTS IN LOUD MUSIC TRIAL-PKG

MD: "if we say over here is my glove box aim looking out the

window and I say you're not gonna kill me you son of a bitch and I shot."

Michael Dunn didn't just testify. He dramatically reenacted the night he

shot 17 year old Jordan Davis.

DUNN SOT

"he opened the door he looked at me and said youre dead bitch

Defense: at this point what did you belive was about to happen to

you

MD: I thought was gonna be killed

Even though police say the teen didn't have a gun. Dunn stuck to his story

that Davis was a foul-mouthed, gun-touting teen who threatened him after he

refused to turn down his rap music.

DUNN SOT

10:46:12 "my rear view mirror was shaking my eardrums were ringing I mean

this was ridiculous loud music"

Davis's parents could do nothing but listen. But the prosecution could and

they pounced.

SOT

Prosecution: MR.DUNN THE TRUTH IS YOU NEVER TOLD THE LOVE OF OUR LIFE THAT

THOSE BOYS HAD A GUN

MD: you weren't there

prosecutors say Dunn fired 10 times at an SUV with four teens inside -

-killing Davis in November of 2012 because he felt the teen disrespected him

.

SOT

Davis was never a threat to u, was it??

He definitely was.

Prosecutor John Guy also hit Dunn hard for not calling police to even report

the shooting. Instead, he and his fianc returned to this hotel and ordered

a pizza.

SOT

good exchange on not calling 911.*****

you are familiar with 911 are you not

yes i am

JG: DIDn't call 911?

MD: Didn't call till the enxt morning.

JG: you didn't call the police, but you called the pizza man.

Dunn has pleaded not guilty and told the jury this is clear case of self

defense. But prosecutors hope the jury will convict the software developer

of first degree murder.

DUNN SOT

MD: I was in fear for my life" Return to index of stories...

SEXY HEALTHY HEART-PKG

IF YOU ARE PLANNING A NIGHT OF ROMANCE FOR YOUR SWEETIE IT MAY TURN INTO SOMETHING MORE INTIMATE. AND DOCTORS SAY THAT'S A GOOD THING, BECAUSE SEX CAN DO WONDERS FOR YOUR HEART.

"The more frequently you have sexual activity, the healthier is your immune system, which will put you at lower risk for infection and inflammation, both of those have been tied to the development of vascular disease."

THAT'S BECAUSE SEXUAL ACTIVITY OPENS UP THE BLOOD VESSELS. AND BEING IN A GOOD RELATIONSHIP MAKES IT EVEN BETTER. AND A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF DIVORCE STATISTICS BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA SHOWED THAT DIVORCED PEOPLE ARE AT 23% GREATER RISK OF EARLY DEATH THAN MARRIED PEOPLE. SO ITS IMPORTANT TO WORK ON BONDING.

"It can provide a release of emotions, whether it's a sexual activity or a shared activity. It helps decrease feelings of loneliness and loneliness can lead to depression and anxiety."

AND IT CUTS DOWN ON STRESS.

SO DR. JONES RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING TIPS FOR KEEPING THE ROMANCE ALIVE.

-BE AN ACTIVE LISTENER.

"Turn off the tv, put the remote down, close the computer, put away the ipad, maintain eye contact and focus on actually listening to each other"

FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP

STOP NAGGING.

CRACKING THE LOVE CODE-PKG

FROM THE 2-BILLION DOLLAR A YEAR ONLINE DATING INDUSTRY, TO NEW RESEARCH SHOWING HOW THE INTERNET ADDS SOMETHING EXTRA TO RELATIONSHIPS, OLD-FASHIONED LOVE HAS JOINED IN A UNION WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY.

THAT'S ONE REASON STARTUPS CONTINUE TO GET INTO THE CROWDED ONLINE DATING FIELD, LIKE HINGE, AN APP NOW AVAILABLE IN JUST A HANDFUL OF CITIES.

We believe that right now, dating sites that are out there are pretty awkward. They're a lot of work, and they just don't lead to great results. And, so what we're trying to do is create a simple, fun experience, uh, for the kind of Facebook generation.

HINGE DRAWS FROM A USER'S EXISITING CONNECTIONS on facebook IN THEIR CITY, RATHER THAN A POOL OF RELATIVE STRANGERS - ONE OF THE LATEST TWISTS AS APP AND WEB DEVELOPERS KEEP WORKING IN THE NAME OF LOVE.

IF USING YOUR SMARTPHONE AS A WINGMAN STILL SOUNDS A LITTLE IMPERSONAL, YOU'RE STARTING TO BECOME OUTNUMBERED. A STUDY LAST FALL FROM THE PEW INTERNET AND AMERICAN LIFE PROJECT FOUND 6 IN 10 AMERICANS SAY ONLINE DATING IS A GOOD WAY TO MEET A MATCH.

AND A REPORT FROM PEW THIS WEEK SAYS THAT AMONG THE QUARTER OF COMMITTED COUPLES WHO USE TECHNOLOGY IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP, THE MAJORITY POINT TO A POSITIVE IMPACT.

Some couples tell us that it helps with things that you might call emotional intimacy. So whether that's an ability to share a piece of information that makes you feel closer, or have a conversation that makes you feel closer to your spouse

CUPID'S ARROW, IT'S NOT. NOR CAN A SMARTPHONE REALLY REPLACE TIME WITH A SWEETHEART. BUT TECHNOLOGY IS HELPING MORE PEOPLE, MAKE -- AND KEEP -- CONNECTIONS.

FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Highs will manage to reach the lower to middle 70s, while some forecast models are hinting at lows near 50° by Friday morning. Return to index of stories...
