"Showers followed by cooler weather"

We had another unseasonably warm day with little to no rain across the area. As we head into the next 24 hours, we'll be tracking some changes as our next weather system moves across the peninsula.

Patchy dense fog will be a concern once again this morning. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Glades, Hendry, Collier, Lee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties until 9am. Visibilities, especially in those fog prone areas, could fall to less than 1/4 of a mile just around sunrise. Otherwise, temperatures will start off slightly cooler with low 60s in town, with upper 50s across our northern and interior zones. A bit of sunshine will break through during the late morning hours and temperatures will continue to climb with a bit more humidity today. Expect daytime highs to max out in the lower 80s with increasing clouds during the late afternoon. A few showers will be possible mainly east of the interstate, while most end the day on a dry note.

Clouds will thicken up tonight and temperatures will settle into the middle 60s. We'll even see a few showers overnight as a cold front approaches Southwest Florida.

Scattered showers will continue throughout our Thursday morning and it will end up being a cool day as daytime highs climb into the lower to middle 70s. By Friday morning, cooler air will rush down the state and temperatures will start off in the middle to upper 50s. Clouds will hang tough for the first part of the day, before the sunshine returns during the afternoon. This will set the stage for a splendid weekend with highs in the lower 80s and comfortable humidity values. Return to index of stories...

WHEN HE NOTICED IT IN THE CAFETERIA.

HE DECIDED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND TELL A TEACHER.

BUT IT GOT HIM 3 DAYS SUSPENSION.

**AND 60 DAYS AT AN ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL!!

LIVINGSTON MOTHER SAYS HER SON SIMPLY MADE A MISTAKE. BUT THAT MISTAKE HE

MADE WHEN PACKING HIS LUNCH FOR SCHOOL, HAS LANDED HIM IN AN ALTERNATIVE

SCHOOL FOR *TWO MONTHS.

EYEWITNESS NEWS REPORTER KARLA BARGUIARENA IS LIVE AT LIVINGSTON HIGH SCHOOL

TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY THE MOM IS SO UPSET.

SCRIPT:

"an honest mistake"

It's been said honesty is the best policy but Chaz Seale doesn't believe it.

"not right now I do not."

Two weeks ago the 17 year old Livingston High School Junior says he

accidentally grabbed a beer from his fridge instead of a soda.then packed

it in his lunch kit.

nat pop: fridge

It was an honest mistake, says his mother, one that could happen to anyone.

"he was in a hurry, running late we were talking about school and he put it

all together and took off for school."

The teen says he realized what he did while in third period.

"so I gave it to the teacher thinking I wouldn't get in trouble, and I got

in trouble."

Lots of trouble. 3 days suspension and 60 days at an alternative school.

"I was just baffled, I said 60 days? that's the maximum amount."

The mom tried explaining to the school principal her son did the right thing

by coming forward. And feels the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

In a statement the district says.

The principal of Livingston High followed appropriate LISD administrative

procedures. LISD encourages any parent who is in disagreement with an

administrative decision to seek relief through the appellate process.

nat pop mom typing

A facebook page against the strict zero tolerance policy and in support of

Chaz has already been started. It's a welcome sign of support for a mom who

is working hard to clear her sons name.

"i think it's not black and white there has to be a grey area you can't

punish a kid for doing the right thing, the same punishment that you would

give a kid that you catch doing the wrong thing." Return to index of stories...

STORMWARN FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS TH

E FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
