WEATHER TEASE-WXWALL

The rain from yesterday and last night continues to move away from the area as a cold front sweeps through south Florida tonight. Forecast computer models indicate that this frontal passage could bring us some chilly weather tonight and tomorrow. Winds will pick up as well and a Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Gulf of Mexico waters through noon tomorrow. Temperatures tonight will likely fall below 50 degrees north of the Caloosahatchee River and inland counties. Along and near the coast the lows tomorrow morning will be in the lower 50's. The average low temperature for this time of year is 61 degrees, so Wednesday morning is looking chilly by March standards.

The forecast tomorrow calls for lots of sunshine and highs in the mid 70's. also below average for March. By Thursday we will warm back to the 80's as a few clouds begin to return overhead.

Rain showers are possible late Friday and on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend. It shouldn't be a complete rain-out this weekend; however, the chance for showers is about 50% both days. Return to index of stories...

NICTOINE LIQUID-TCMON

THE POPULARITY OF E-CIGARETTES IS GROWING AS MAKERS SAY THEY'RE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO SMOKING REGULAR CIGARETTES.

TONIGHT - A NEW CONCERN.

DOCTORS ARE WARNING ABOUT THE HEALTH RISK RELATED TO THAT LIQUID NICOTINE AND YOUR CHILDREN. Return to index of stories...

NICTOINE LIQUID-PKG

"The liquid is nicotine, and nicotine, uh, has been used as a pesticide."

IT COMES IN FLAVORS LIKE "CHERRY" AND "CARAMEL," BUT CONSUMING LIQUID NICOTINE FOUND IN E-CIGARETTES CAN HAVE DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES.

"You can get dry mouth, you can get fast heart rate, you can get them acting delirious, sort of out of it, uh, it can cause respiratory depression. It can ultimately be fatal, especially if it was a young child, an infant or an animal."

AND THE E-CIGARETTE INDUSTRY IS LARGELY SELF-REGULATED. UNLIKE CIGARETTES, THERE ARE NO MANDATED WARNING LABELS ON E LIQUIDS. DOCTORS SAY THIS IS LARGELY DUE TO THE NEW AND UNTESTED NATURE OF THE PRODUCTS.

JESSE WHITE IS THE LOUNGE MANAGER AT TOTALLY WICKED IN SARASOTA. HE SAYS HIS STORE HOLDS ITSELF TO A HIGHER STANDARD.

"It's very important for us to know that this bottle has been made to the best quality. We have these packaged in a sterile lab environment."

THESE E-LIQUID BOTTLES ALSO INCLUDE WARNING LABELS, AND AN EMBOSSED "POISON" LOGO FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED. WHITE SAYS TOTALLY WICKED IS WORKING WITH THE F-D-A TO PROVIDE A TEMPLATE OF HOW THE E-CIGARETTE BUSINESS NEEDS TO CHANGE.

"Regulations on mixing inside of the shop, bottle regulations, product packaging, product quality -- all of those may not be here yet, but will come and we will be on the front of the line." Return to index of stories...

A controversial stunt last September, now coming to light. after the three

jumpers and their lookout turned themselves in to police.

SOT/Andrew Rossig - We were a little shocked that they spent that

much time and energy continuing to pursue something that they knew was not a

terrorist act.

Maybe not terrorism, but a stunning breach of security at the World Trade

Center. Officials also called it a

violation of the "spirit of respect and reverence for this sacred site."

SOT/James Brady - We weren't seeking anything more than the simplicity of

the jump, that's all.

SU Bridge: The men slipped through a hole in security fences, then made it

undetected to the roof, 104 floors up. / Then they landed here -- 3 blocks

away -- after a 52 second free fall.

The men scurried into the dark and hid their parachutes. But surveillance

footage helped police track them down. They've pleaded not guilty to felony

charges, including burglary and trespassing.

SOT/Andrew Rossig - We weren't trying to hurt anybody by what we were doing.

We weren't trying to stir up any media. We weren't trying to cause any

problems for New York City.

The stunt is the latest wake-up call for law enforcement. who were

embarrased earlier this month when a 16-year-old boy evaded the same

security and reached the roof.

SPRING FITNESS-PKG

AFTER A COLD, UGLY WINTER, SPRING SUNSHINE IS FINALLY PUSHING MANY PEOPLE OFF THE COUCH.

PERSONAL TRAINER JOSEF BRANDENBURG SAYS THE APPROACH IS THE SAME WHETHER YOU'RE STARTING A FITNESS ROUTINE FOR THE FIRST TIME, OR PICKING UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF IN THE FALL.

Start small and then you can always get bigger. So like working out three days a week consistently, will get you so much farther than kind of doing fits and spurts of six days a week.

START SMALL, AND START SIMPLE --

One of the best exercises for your upper body and your core, is a pushup.

-- BASICS LIKE PUSHUPS AND SQUATS.

BRANDENBURG SAYS TO THINK OF A SPRING FITNESS PLAN AS A LONG-TERM COMMITMENT RATHER THAN A QUICK FIX. AND IN TANDEM WITH A SPRING FITNESS ROUTINE, SHOULD BE HEALTHER EATING.

You want to make a manageable commitment with your fitness, and you also want to make a manageable commitment with any nutritional changes that you're going to make.

THE WARMER WEATHER WILL BRING SOME NEW OPTIONS.

In the spring in particular, we see more apricots and artichokes, um, and we see the seasonal berries are going to be coming out - early cherries, and so if it looks good to you - if it's a fresh fruit or vegetable, add it in the basket.

REGISTERED DIETITIAN REBECCA SCRITCHFIELD RECOMMENDS SPRING CLEANING THE PANTRY, MAKING ROOM FOR NEW ITEMS.

Herbs and spices will really help you flavor food without adding salt, spices and fat. When you have a nice, neat kitchen, you're going to be much more likely to get in there and cook. When you make your own food, it's much more likely to be healthier.
