FIRST WEATHER-PWC

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

The first phase of rain comes early this morning with scattered showers building in from the Gulf of Mexico. After the initial round of rain through the first half of the morning, we'll likely get a break in the activity through midday, but another band of rain and storms will approach by the afternoon and evening.

A few of these storms could produce gusty winds and frequent lightning, but it appears the primary risk for severe weather today will be across Central Florida.

Aside from rain chances around 60%, it's going to be a warm and breezy day with plenty of clouds and limited sunshine. Despite the lack of sunshine, temperatures should have no trouble reaching the low to mid 80s during the day.

Some showers and storms may linger for the first half of the night, and then we'll see gradual clearing from north to south as the cool front clears Southwest Florida.

Sunday should end up being a really nice day with tons of sun, lower humidity and temperatures only in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees during the afternoon.

Winds will be a factor in our weather tomorrow as a stiff northerly breeze gusts up to 20-30 mph.

Sunday night will be the coolest night of the next seven as temperatures drop to the mid 50s under a mostly clear sky.

The rest of our week is shaping up nicely; it'll be very spring like with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. Return to index of stories...

FRIDAY NIGHT IN HULL, JUST OUTSIDE ATHENS - 18 YEAR OLD STEVEN FIELDS, INSIDE HIS HOME, DID NOT WANT TO SPEAK WITH ME.

HE'S BETWEEN JOBS, HE RECENTLY LOST HIS JOB AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT… AND HE HAD JUST BONDED OUT OF THE MADISON COUNTY JAIL, CHARGED WITH FELONY THEFT BY TAKING… BECAUSE THE BANK MISTAKENLY DEPOSITED NEARLY $32,000 INTO HIS ACCOUNT… AND HE KEPT IT.

THE MONEY LANDED IN HIS ACCOUNT ON MARCH 7TH.

"He was excited, you know, I would have been, too. If somebody's going to put money in my bank account, I'm gonna go and have fun, too, you know?

STACY SORROW WHO SAYS SHE'S LIKE A MOTHER TO STEVEN FIELDS… BELIEVES THE BANK TELLER IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD HAVE TO PAY BACK THE BANK.

THE TELLER WAS SUPPOSED TO DEPOSIT THE MONEY INTO THE ACCOUNT OF ANOTHER MAN IN HULL NAMED STEVEN FIELDS.

WELL… THE MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS, IT TOOK THIS STEVEN FIELDS ONLY 24 HOURS TO WITHDRAW OR SPEND $5,000 WITH HIS ATM CARD… AND THEN GO INSIDE THE BANK AND WITHDRAW $20,000 MORE IN CASH… THEN BUY A CAR, GO ON A SHOPPING SPREE AT A BIG BOX STORE…

THE BANK SAYS IT TRIED TO GET THE MONEY BACK FROM FIELDS… TRIED TO ARRANGE A PAYMENT PLAN… BUT FIELDS WOULD NOT COOPERATE. SO THE SHERIFF ARRESTED HIM.

REPORTER: He had money that didn't belong to him.

SORROW: It don't matter. They made the mistake. They the ones put it in his account.

THE MONEY BELONGED TO 70 YEAR OLD STEVEN FIELDS, OF HULL… THE BANK *DID* DEPOSIT THE FULL AMOUNT INTO HIS ACCOUNT WHEN THE MISTAKE WAS DISCOVERED…

HE SAYS HE NEVER WOULD HAVE KEPT SOMEONE ELSE'S MONEY.
