530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WX CTR TO WX WALL

"Showers and storms move in today"

Our streak of warm days with plenty of sunshine will come to an end today as showers and storms move in ahead of our next cold front. In its wake, a cooler and drier airmass will filter down the peninsula allowing for sunnier weather to return for the end of the week.

Our morning will be quite humid with temperatures in the lower 70s. Our skies will start off mostly cloudy and the vast majority of us will stay dry through sunrise, however a stray shower washing in off the gulf can't be ruled out. Clouds will thicken through the late morning hours and the winds will kick up ahead of a line of showers and t-storms. Expect the rain to approach our far northern counties by mid to late morning. This line will continue to sag south and east through the afternoon, keeping our daytime highs in the low 80s. The severe weather risk remains low, with heavier downpours and gusty winds being the main threats.

The rain will begin to weaken as it pulls away from Southwest Florida, and quiet conditions will be in store for the rest of the night. Temperatures will also be about 10° cooler as they bottom out in the lower 60s by tomorrow morning.

High pressure will build in across the state on Wednesday allowing skies to clear and the sunshine to return. Winds will be quite gusty out of the north and northwest as it sends in cooler and drier air. Daytime highs will remain unseasonably cool as they top out in the upper 70s. By Thursday morning, temperatures will dip into the middle 50s with a nice warm up during the day as highs warm into the lower half of the 80s. Mainly dry and partly sunny skies will remain in the forecast through the weekend. Return to index of stories...

STORMWARN FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS TH

E FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Showers and storms move in today"

FINAL WEATHER

Showers and storms move in today"
