WEATHER-WXWALL

FULL WX

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

After quite the toasty Saturday, we're on track to see a warm and mild evening across Southwest Florida.

Our sky will stay quiet and mostly clear with just a few clouds passing through during the overnight period.

We'll start off our Sunday morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, but we'll be in store for a rapid warm-up through the morning and into the afternoon. Temperatures should have no trouble reaching the mid to upper 80s during the heat of the day with some of us even closing in on 90 degrees.

Another subtle change to the weather will be an uptick in humidity as our wind becomes more southeasterly over the next couple days.

There should be just enough moisture for a couple stray, late-day showers to form Sunday, but the overall coverage will stay pretty spotty.

As we head in the the upcoming week, we'll be tracking a weakening cool front approaching Southwest Florida by Tuesday and Wednesday. This front will most likely get stretched out and ultimately stall over South Florida, leaving us with higher rain chances and more cloud cover by the mid week.

Temperatures will continue to stay rather warm next week with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Return to index of stories...

MISSING PLANE LATEST-ONCAM

THE SEARCH FOR MISSING MALAYSIA AIRLINES FLIGHT 370 CONTINUED IN THE INDIAN OCEAN TODAY WITHOUT ANY SIGNIFICANT FINDINGS.

SEARCH CREWS HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO RE-DISCOVER THE PINGING SOUND THEY HEARD EARLIER THIS WEEK.

WITH THE SIGNAL FADING AND THE AREA STILL TOO LARGE TO EFFECTIVELY SCOUR THE OCEAN FLOOR,

AS IAN WILLIAMS REPORTS, THE FATE OF FLIGHT 370 REMAINS A MYSTERY. Return to index of stories...

MISSING PLANE LATEST-PKG

THERE WERE TEN AIRCRAFT AND 14 SHIPS INVOLVED IN TODAY'S SEARCH, BUT THEY HAD NO SOUND SIGNALS OR NO SIGN OF ANY DEBRIS.

A VERY FRUSTRATING DAY.

TONY ABBOTT, THE AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER WHO'S STILL IN CHINA, TODAY WAS MUCH MORE DOWN-BEAT IN TERMS OF HIS ASSESSMENT OF THE WAY THESE THINGS ARE GOING.

FRIDAY HE SEEMED TO BE PRETTY CONFIDENT, BUT TODAY HE TALKED ABOUT THE FADING SIGNAL ON THE BLACK BOX AND THE MASSIVE, MASSIVE TASK THAT LIES AHEAD.

"Trying to locate anything four and half kilometers beneath the surface of the ocean, about a thousand kilometers from land is a massive, massive task."

NOW THE REALITY WHICH HAS BEEN GIVEN BY THE COORDINATING CENTER HERE IS THAT WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY CONFIRMED SOUNDS DETECTED SINCE TUESDAY.

AND UNTIL THEY CAN GET MORE SOUND, WHICH ENABLES THEM TO BETTER PINPOINT WHERE THE BLACK BOX IS SITTING ON THE OCEAN FLOOR, AND THEY DO THINK THEY'RE IN THE RIGHT GENERAL AREA, THEN IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO SEND DOWN THE SUBMERSIBLE VEHICLE, THE UNDERWATER DRONE, TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK, BECAUSE THAT VEHICLE WORKS AT A WALKING PACE.
