WEATHER-WXWALL

FULL WX

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

For the first time this year, we hit 90 degrees in Fort Myers, and this was the case for much of Southwest Florida through the afternoon as temps soared into the upper 80s to low 90s.

Despite the heat and increasing humidity, it's been a quiet day on the radar. With the exception of a brief pop-up shower over Alligator Alley this evening, we'll see a dry conclusion to our Saturday.

Temperatures will stay unseasonably warm this evening and through the overnight with lows only settling into the upper 60s to lower 70s by early Sunday morning.

For the most part, our sky will stay clear and quiet, but we may see some fog forming by the pre-dawn hours, particularly over Charlotte County.

We're set to see another very sultry day tomorrow with daytime highs climbing back up to 90 degrees. The exception will be areas closer to the coast where the sea breeze will limit the temperatures rise by the afternoon.

As our winds start to become more southerly Sunday, you'll notice an uptick in humidity, which will make the air feel even hotter.

The added moisture may even help to get a few isolated showers forming by the afternoon and evening, but most of these will stay just to the east of the interstate.

The heat and humidity carry over into the upcoming week, but rain chances will stay on the low side; a few spotty downpours may develop during the heat of the day, but these will mainly affect our inland communities.

Rain prospects are looking a little higher by the end of the week as a front approaches Southwest Florida by Thursday and Friday. Return to index of stories...
