530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WX CTR TO WX WALL

It might seem a bit unusual for the fourth, but our weather will end up staying relatively dry as we go through our Independence Day across Southwest Florida.

An onshore wind will bring in a few morning showers along the coast, but the coverage will stay fairly spotty.

As we go through the afternoon and evening, the highest rain chances will exist deeper inland where a few storms may form over Hendry, Glades, and interior sections of Collier County.

Aside from some isolated rain today, we're on track to see plenty of sunshine along with very warm temperatures as daytime highs reaching the low to mid 90s.

If you're planning to go out tonight for some 4th of July festivities, plan on a warm and humid evening with temperatures in the low to mid 80s along with a partly cloudy sky.

For our Saturday and Sunday, we'll notice a slight uptick in rain chances, so expect to see more in the way of showers and storms during the afternoon with the highest concentration of rain developing across our inland areas.

Overall, rain chances for Saturday and Sunday afternoon will be around 40%.

Otherwise, expect tons of sun and plenty of heat with afternoon temperatures peaking in the low to mid 90s each day.

For the upcoming week, the rainy season pattern rolls along with afternoon storms developing each day. Before the storms arrive, though, expect mostly sunny and hot conditions with highs in the low to mid 90s. Return to index of stories...

REUTERS REPORTS THERE WERE COMPLAINTS 17 YEARS AGO. WELL

BEFORE THE CHEVY COBALT AND OTHER SMALL CARS WERE INTRODUCED.

IT'S COSTING 19 CENTS A GALLON MORE FOR GAS THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND THAN A YEAR

AGO.

GAS PRICES ARE AT THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR

BUT THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED MUCH IN THE PAST MONTH. AND MAY

START TO COME DOWN. NOW THAT TENSIONS ARE EASING IN IRAQ.

AND AMERICANS ARE ALSO SPENDING THE MOST EVER ON THEIR BARBECUES THIS FOURTH

GROUND BEEF, FOR EXAMPLE, IS 16 PERCENT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN LAST

YEAR -- TOMATOES ALMOST AS MUCH.

WE'RE ALSO GRILLING MORE THIS YEAR.

STORMWARN FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS TH

E FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
