ROBIN WILLIAMS DEATH-PKG

PKG SCRIPT:

Overnight, Hollywood mourned the loss of legendary actor Robin Williams.

From the iconic comedy club, The Laugh Factory to the Hollywood Walk of Fame

to the premiere of Expendables 3, shock and sadness spread.

SOT Arnold Schwarzenegger

"WE ARE MOURNING THE LOSS OF SUCH A GREAT MAN. HE WAS SUCH A FANTASTIC ACTOR

."

SOT Paul Rodriguez

"HE WAS A UNIQUE GUY. HE WAS JUST A FORCE OF NATURE."

The Academy Award winner died Monday at his home in northern California.

Authorities suspect the 63-year-old took his own life.

Williams representative said the actor had "been battling severe depression

of late."

Online, fans, celebrities and Williams' family grieved.

""I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up" his daughter

Zelda tweeted.

Even President Obama weighed in: "He was one of a kind. He arrived in

our lives as an alien, but he ended up touching every element of the human

spirit."

The President was referring to Williams' work as an odd-ball alien in the

1970s television classic Mork and Mindy.

NATS - Mork & Mindy

"FLY, BE FREE. / LITTLE HATCHLING BROTHERS YOU MUST REVOLT AGAINST YOUR

OPPRESSORS, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT YOUR-SHELLVES."

Behind the scenes, Williams struggled mightily with drug and alcohol abuse.

He talked about it in this 2006 interview with Diane Sawyer.

SOT Diane Sawyer & Robin Williams

Sawyer: "A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE SAID, IS THE PERSON WHO SAID THOSE THINGS ARE YOU, YOURSELF?"

Williams: "NO. THAT'S ANOTHER SIDE OF YOURSELF YOU DON'T KNOW. SIDE OF YOU

THAT'S DR. JEKYLL AND MR. JACK DANIELS."

Entertainment Weekly once called Williams "the funniest man alive", but many

of the Julliard-trained actor's roles were mixed with wit and warmth.

Good Morning Vietnam. the Dead Poets Society. Mrs. Doubtfire and Good

Will Hunting. for which he won his Oscar.

NATS - Good Will Hunting

"I THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT YOU SAID TO ME THE OTHER DAY, ABOUT MY PAINTING."

An autopsy is scheduled for today and the coroner will hold a news

conference.

STAYING HOT AND HUMID WITH LIMITED RAIN CHANCES

Our Tuesday morning starts warm and humid. Temperatures will climb quickly once the sun comes up this morning. We'll be near 90 by the noon hour and continue into the lower 90s with heat index values reaching into the lower 100s this afternoon. There will be plenty of sunshine through the morning with a few more clouds building in as we go through the afternoon. Winds will again be coming onshore. As far as rain chances, they remain low today. There could be just a stray shower to wash ashore late this morning. Then there will be a couple of isolated storms, mainly inland, this afternoon.

Wednesday will likely have a chance for a shower in the first half of the day, mainly along the coastline. By the afternoon our rain prospects again move inland east of the interstate.

TROPICAL UPDATE

A tropical wave can be seen on satellite imagery off the western coast of Africa.

The unorganized collection of showers and thunderstorms is showing no signs of immediate development.

According to National Hurricane Center meteorologists, the disturbance has a 0% chance of cyclone development in the next two days, with a 20% chance through the next five.

Forecast model data places the tropical wave moving westward at 15 to 20 mph through Monday.

Over the open Atlantic, model forecast data diverges. Some data suggests the disturbance will curl more toward the north in the Atlantic while other models hold it moving due west toward the Caribbean.

It is too early to determine if the tropical wave will become the third named tropical event of the 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Center and if it will pose any impact on our weather in Southwest Florida.

We will be tracking it on air and online to keep you updated. Return to index of stories...

STORMWARN FORECAST-WX WALL
