FORECAST-WXWALL

We're tracking a few downpours and even a few storms roaming across Southwest Florida this afternoon and into the evening, but the bulk of the rain will tend to stay over our inland areas through the evening.

Aside from a passing downpour or two, we'll see a warm and muggy conclusion to our Wednesday with a mostly clear sky through the overnight period.

As we approach the early morning hours Thursday, some downpours will develop over the Gulf and head toward the coast of Southwest Florida, so plan for the possibility for some scattered showers during the morning hours.

By the late afternoon hours on Thursday, the highest concentration of rain will likely be over interior portions of the peninsula, but a few isolated showers will still be possible closer to the coast.

Our rain chances will start to drop off a little more from Friday into the upcoming weekend, keeping lots of sun and warm temperatures in our forecast. A few passing showers will be possible early in the day, but the rain that develops during the afternoon will primarily impact areas away from the coast and deep inland.

Tropical Update

Other than a couple tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic, the tropics continue to stay very quiet. Tropical activity is not expected for the next few days, but we're getting close to the time of year when we normally see an increase in tropical development. Keep monitoring nbc-2.com for future updates on the tropics. Return to index of stories...

Customers are stunned.

SOT: "You never expect that you're at Walmart and someone has been living

there for four days that crazy."

The teen apparently stole items from the store to eat and slept in this

makeshift bed.

To avoid suspicion, the boy even took clothes from the rack, changing his

outfit every few hours and even using diapers instead of the bathroom to

avoid detection.

SOT "I'm wondering what his parents think, and how come he didn't come home,

and why aren't they worried about him," said customer Megan Nicholson.

But it was this trail of trash that led Walmart workers to his hiding place.

The boy tried to run off but was caught before he could get away.

It doesn't appear that the boy is homeless. State officials say he was

living with relatives when he disappeared. Return to index of stories...
