FIRST WEATHER IN DTFM-LIVE SQBOX LYNX 1

One of the coldest mornings waking up in SWFL with temperatures in the upper 30s in most places. If you have to be outside this morning make sure you have the warm layers with the hat, scarf and gloves included. With the wind chill this morning, things will feel even colder. By this afternoon, our temperatures will warm up to the low 60s and the sunshine will help.

If you have any plans this evening, a coat will need to be part of your wardrobe. We will dip back into the 30s and 40s tomorrow morning. By the afternoon, things will start to feel better for your Saturday plans but it'll still be pretty breezy.

Sunday will be the pick day of the weekend with temperatures starting to warm up. We will only be in the mid 40s in the morning and the afternoon we will finally see some 70 degree weather!

Our next chance of rain comes Monday along with our next weather-maker. No worries, it won't bother our temperatures much as we continue to warm up to the upper 70s by next week. Return to index of stories...

PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT LUCI TANN SAYS IT HAS TO DEAL WITH YOUR CAPILLARIES.

SHE SAYS BECAUSE IT'S NORMALLY SO HOT HERE, THOSE SMALL BLOOD VESSELS OPEN UP TO RELEASE HEAT.

SO WHEN THE WEATHER GETS COLD THEY CONSTRICT TO KEEP THE WARM BLOOD INSIDE.

BUT IT TAKES TIME FOR YOUR BODIES CIRCULATION TO ADJUST.

IN ADDITION THE LONGER YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA---

YOUR BODY WILL LOSE INSULATING FAT THAT KEEPS YOU WARM.

FORECAST-LIVE SQBOX LYNX 1

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

NEAR FREEZING TEMPERATURES WERE EXPECTED THIS MORNING --

ALL OF THE PLANTS THERE ARE CONSIDERED TROPICAL AND AT RISK OF FREEZING.

SOME OF THE BONSAI TREES---

SO THE OWNERS WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE BEING PROTECTED.

MANY OF THEIR TROPICAL PLANTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN COVERED FOR FEAR TEMPERATURES MAY REACH THE FREEZING MARK.

NATIVE FLORIDA PLANTS WILL LIKELY BE OK --
