FIRST WEATHER-WX CTR

Finally a morning where we don't need to bundle up! If you have to be outdoors for a while this morning, you may want a jacket but it's rather comfortable this morning compared to last week. Temperatures will warm up from the mid 50s this morning to the upper 70s later this afternoon. Our high temperatures are finally back above average for this time of year. Cloud cover will increase as we head though the day with a chance for a few light showers tonight.

Our next weather-maker, an area of low pressure, will move into the Gulf as we head into tomorrow bringing more cloud cover and chance of rain to our area. Don't expect a washout on Tuesday but keep the umbrella handy. Dreary conditions are expected heading into mid-week as the low slowly stalls out and then moves out of the area. Even with the spotty showers and added cloud cover over the next few days, our high temperatures will still make it up into the mid to upper 70s.

This system will move out by Thursday before our next cold front moves in for the weekend. We won't see as much of a cold snap but expect temperatures to drop into the low 70s. Return to index of stories...

IN THE YEAR OF "ME TOO" AND "TIMES UP," THE 75TH GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS WERE DOMINATED BY THE STORIES OF WOMEN.

GOLDEN GLOBES-PKG

"Good evening, ladies and remaining gentlemen."

GOLDEN GLOBES HOST SETH MEYERS SET THE TONE, BLISTERING ALLEGED PERPETRATORS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND ABUSE. THEN CAME THE AWARDS: "THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI" -- ABOUT A YOUNG WOMAN'S RAPE AND MURDER, AND HER MOTHER'S PURSUIT OF JUSTICE -- WAS THE MOST-HONORED MOVIE, WINNING FOUR TROPHIES, INCLUDING BEST MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA.

"Trust me, the women in this room are not here for the food. We are here for the work."

THE TOP T-V WINNER, "BIG LITTLE LIES" -- WITH STORYLINES INVOLVING SEXUAL ABUSE -- ALSO WON FOUR GOLDEN GLOBES.

"People out there who are feeling silenced by harassment, discrimination, abuse: time is up. We see you, we hear you and we will tell your stories."

IN FACT, ALL OF THE NIGHT'S MULTIPLE AWARD WINNERS WERE STORIES ABOUT WOMEN: "LADY BIRD," "THE SHAPE OF WATER," "THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL," AND "THE HANDMAID'S TALE."

"We no longer live in the gaps between the stories. We are the story in print and we are writing the story ourselves."

AND OPRAH WINFREY, THE FIRST BLACK WOMAN EVER TO RECEIVE THE GLOBES' CECIL B. DEMILLE AWARD, BROUGHT THE AUDIENCE TO ITS FEET AS SHE SUMMED UP THE NIGHT, AND THE TIMES.

"So I want all the girls watching here now to know that a new day is on the horizon! It will be because of a lot of magnficent women, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say 'Me Too' again."

IN HOLLYWOOD, I'M DAVID DANIEL. Return to index of stories...
