STATE REPRESENTATIVE DANE EAGLE WANTS TO EXEMPT PEOPLE LIKE LIZ SHELPER WHO STILL CAN'T RETURN HOME- FOUR MONTHS LATER.

LIz Shelper/ Irma Victim /. 12:14:25 We couldn't stay there because of fear of mold. Were just now wrapping it up. We've been displaced for a while. 12;14:35

UNDER EAGLE'S BILL SHE AND OTHERS COULD SAVE THOUSANDS.

Liz / 13:14:45 That would be a tremendous help because we're having to pay for pod storage of all our belongings. 13:14:52

THE HURRICANE IRMA TAX RELIEF ACT WILL ONLY APPLY FOR THOSE HOMES THAT ARE USED AS A PRIMARY RESIDENCE. IF IT'S A WINTER HOME- YOU WOULDN'T QUALIFY FOR TAX RELIEF.

FORECAST-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Forecast: Mild today, cold front tomorrow

Warm and humid air continues to hang over Southwest Florida on Thursday, meaning another mild start with temperatures in the 60s. Areas of dense fog will stick around for the early morning in DeSoto and Charlotte counties. Fog development in other areas including Lee and Collier counties will be not as widespread as yesterday. There will still be areas however with visibility under a half of a mile at times.

Conditions this afternoon will be partly cloudy and mainly dry, although a stray shower or two can't be ruled out. Temperatures will top out at around 80 degrees again today.

It will be another mild night with a few areas of fog and increasing cloud cover ahead of a cold front. By the afternoon and evening we will see a few showers and higher winds as the front passes.

Temperatures will begin to fall through the day on Saturday and bottom out in the 40s early Sunday morning. The weekend will be breezy and chilly with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 50s and 60s for most of this timeframe.

We'll begin next week with lows in the 40s and highs only in the 60s but warm slightly by Tuesday afternoon. Another front is likely early next week which will hold our temperatures below average for the foreseeable future. Return to index of stories...

FLORIDA LAWMAKERS ARE CONSIDERING A BILL --TO ADOPT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ALL YEAR-ROUND.

IT WOULD GIVE US AN EXTRA HOUR OF SUNLIGHT AT NIGHT -- DURING THE WINTER MONTHS.

IF THE BILL PASSES --

IT WOULD ALSO BRING ALL OF FLORIDA INTO THE EASTERN TIME ZONE.

RIGHT NOW --

THE WESTERN PART OF THE PANHANDLE IS ON CENTRAL TIME.

IT WOULD ELIMINATE THE HASSLE OF HAVING TO RESET YOUR CLOCKS TWICE A YEAR. Return to index of stories...
